Torreys Peak

The master bedroom was a blank slate. Since the homeowners are a vivacious young couple — but they’d requested a peaceful retreat, we balanced carefully placed accents of vibrant color with a more neutral palette and soft materials to create an inviting, relaxing space. A new custom upholstered bed grounds the entire room, while pierced cotton curtains bring in a punch of color. A quirky bench and screen reflect the couple’s many travels and add a sense of history to the entire project. But the pièce de la résistance is the wallpaper. Its unique texture, subtle sheen, and coloration elevate this master bedroom.

In the children’s rooms, we updated the bedding, added funky area rugs, changed the window coverings, and created focal point walls. The kids were integral to our process. We interviewed them to learn their interests and hobbies and to discover colors they liked, and we presented their finished rooms directly to them.

The guest suite was fairly well furnished but dated. We selected new bedding, window coverings, and color to add life and bring the space up to current times.

The powder bath is often an overlooked space, but these homeowners wanted something dramatic and interesting. We painted the existing cabinet, created an accent wall of faux bois tile, and re-imagined what lighting could do for a bathroom by installing a multi-pendant fixture.
